Testimonials

Assisi, Italy is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.  Assisi is the birthplace of      St. Francis the founder of the Franciscan Order and St. Clare the foundress of the Poor Clare’s.  It is a beautiful, peaceful, medieval village in Italy.

As a pilgrimage site it is truly unique.

Come, join Delores Montpetit and her husband Ken Skuba on our fifth annual Contemplative Pilgrimage to Assisi, Italy. Your life will be enriched and transformed through participation in historical Franciscan visits and teachings, meditation, reflective photography, journaling and simple Expressive Arts experiences.

We will be exploring Assisi and the surrounding areas related to St. Francis in Umbria, Tuscany and Lazio with a small pilgrimage group

of up to 16 pilgrims, with a minimum of ten pilgrims. Please only book your flights once we have confirmed we have the required amount of people.

Bring whichever camera you have, cell phones to professional cameras.

Delores will be sharing "pro tips" with you.

Pope Francis made a pilgrimage to the hillside Italian town of Assisi in October 2013, following in the footsteps of his namesake St. Francis, to honour the saints feast day. During his talks which I attended,  he made it clear that he is inviting us to re-discover St. Francis and St. Clare.

We would be honoured to do this with you.

A Closer Look at our Pilgrimage

We will be staying in the hilltop town of Assisi with restaurants, shops, multiple churches, significant Franciscan sites and beautiful original artwork all within walking distance.

Our four star hotel and beautiful retreat location is in the

heart of Assisi at the ~ Giotto  Hotel and Spa .

To select and book a room within our reservation block please go to our About page and click on the link "PDF Registration Form for Pilgrimage Deposit and Room Selelction"

Early morning stillness, surrounded by beauty invites a contemplative stance.

Traversing through the town on cobblestone streets with ancient stonework architecture is like stepping back in time.

Mystical evenings will leave us with a deep sense of gratitude.

The Basilica of St. Clare overlooking the valley is captivating

day and night, inside and out.

Pilgrimages and retreats have a spirit of unknowing and an element of mystery. Our hope is that all who join us will step into this experience with a beginner’s mind, with the vulnerability of a child and a deep trust that God is up to something wonderful in and through each of us.

The entire pilgrimage will be based out of one hotel in Assisi in order to minimize the busy pace of international travel.

If you choose to rent a car, the hotel in Assisi charges 15,00 euro/day for parking.

Assisi is a hilltop village with many points of interest at both the top, bottom and sides of the village. We will be walking up and down the hills of Assisi and the surrounding areas daily. Please remember to bring comfortable walking shoes.

The food, the wine and the outstanding gelato in Assisi all add so much to the experience. As our previous pilgrims can attest to, we will be stopping for gelato as often as possible!

In the words of my friend and mystical teacher, James Finley from "The Living School for Action and Contemplation" we are inviting you to … " assume an inner stance that offers the least resistance of being overcome by grace".

We hope to be overcome by Grace.
A spirit of openness, curiosity, flexibility and acceptance will serve us all well.
