Meditative Practices

Enter into the practices of Contemplative Photography, simple Expressive Arts Exercises, Meditative sits, and Reflective Journaling. On our 10 day pilgrimage  we will invite you to slow down and be present to what is before us in our surroundings, each other and every person we encounter.

Bring whichever camera you have ~ an iphone, android, digital camera or professional camera. Delores will teach you how to see and to pay attention to light.  Ken will help with the technical part of phone cameras, phone editing and apps.

Visit Sacred Sites

St. Francis and St. Clare were both drawn to the beauty of nature in Italy. We will walk in the footsteps of St. Francis and St. Clare and drive to many of the most important and beautiful sites where they lived, discerned, prayed, ministered to the sick and the poor and connected to God.

We will reflectively walk through the town of Assisi and it’s gorgeous countryside with the collected intentions of over 800 years of pilgrims. We will be wrapped in the stone walls of  ancient buildings and churches that have been perfumed by generations of prayers.

Create Community

We will gather as a group of pilgrims, seekers of wisdom, grace and peace. As in the words of one of our 2017 pilgrims, Nadine Boudreau-Curtis “I believe that everyone there makes the group atmosphere. We had a beautiful group of pilgrims and every day was amazing.”

We gather in Assisi as strangers, acquaintances, couples and sometimes friends. Through the Grace of God and our choice to be vulnerable, we connect with one another. If we are willing we depart Assisi as brothers and sisters in God with our souls entwined for life.

Contemplative Pilgrimages

Assisi, Italy is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the birthplace of St. Francis, the founder of the Franciscan Order and St. Clare the foundress of the Poor Clare’s.  It’s a beautiful, peaceful, medieval village in Italy.

As a pilgrimage site it is truly unique.

Come, join Delores Montpetit and her husband Ken Skuba on our fifth annual Contemplative Pilgrimage to Assisi, Italy. Your life will be enriched and transformed through participation in historical Franciscan visits and teachings, meditation, reflective photography, journaling and simple Expressive Arts experiences.

We will be exploring Assisi and the surrounding areas related to St. Francis and St. Clare in Umbria, Tuscany and Lazio with a small pilgrimage group of up to 16 pilgrims, with a minimum of ten pilgrims. Please only book your flights once we have confirmed we have the required amount of people.

Bring whichever camera you have, cell phones to professional cameras. Delores will be sharing “pro tips” with you.

Pope Francis made a pilgrimage to the hillside Italian town of Assisi in October 2013, following in the footsteps of his namesake St. Francis, to honour the saints feast day. During his talks which Delores attended,  he made it clear that he is inviting us to re-discover St. Francis and St. Clare.
